Indian business giant Aditya Birla is planning to expand its manufacturing operations in Bihar since senior officials of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL) have visited the city of Begusarai, said to be the industrial and financial capital of the state and explored investment opportunities.
ABFRL Chief Supply Chain Officer Swaminathan (Swami) Ramachandran and other authorities talked about the amenities in the area. The company’s representatives were briefed by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) team and the local government on the plug-and-play model, logistics and connection features.
According to some reports, the clothing giant’s investment might generate nearly 5,000 new jobs in this area, the majority of which would be for women.
Jyoti Rai, Regional Manager, Industrial Growth Center, Begusarai told Apparel Resources, “The team has shown interest in investing in Begusarai and we are hopeful that after a few meetings at a high level, more details will be finalised.”
She went on to say that good connectivity and developing logistics infrastructure are other factors drawing businesses to Bihar in addition to the state’s manpower availability and different subsidies.
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL) has been contacted by Apparel Resources for additional information regarding this project. As soon as the business responds, the same will be posted here.
ABFRL operates 4,664 stores, 37,205 multi-brand outlets, and 9,563 points of sale in department stores throughout India. Its retail venture is Pantaloons, and its brands include Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Peter England.
