The Maharashtra State Cabinet has recently rolled out a series of initiatives aimed at revitalising the textile industry.
The revision of the Integrated and Sustainable Textile Policy for 2023–2028 and the creation of mini textile parks with the goal of attracting investments of Rs. 1,800 crore are two of the major resolutions.
For the textile industry in Maharashtra, the Integrated and Sustainable Textile Policy 2023–28 establishes a new standard with the goal of fostering growth while upholding sustainable practices. The establishment of eighteen small textile manufacturing complexes is anticipated to be made possible by the policy modification, an endeavour that will hopefully revitalise this long-standing industry.
In addition, the creation of micro textile parks is a calculated attempt to draw substantial investments totaling Rs. 1,800 crore and to generate over 36,000 direct and indirect job possibilities. With this project, the state is demonstrating its commitment to reviving its textile industry and increasing its worldwide competitiveness while maintaining environmental sustainability.
