Work on the Sircilla unit of Bengaluru-based Texport Industries Private Ltd (TIPL), a readymade garments manufacturing company, has reached the final stage with the unit to start operations soon. Since 90 per cent of the work has already been done, the authorities are considering opening the unit as soon as possible.
The State government signed an MoU with TIPL on February 25, 2022, in the presence of IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, after the company expressed interest in establishing the unit in Sircilla last year. On the outskirts of Sircilla town, at the Peddur Apparel Park, the government gave the company 7.42 acres of land. The unit has a buildup area of 1.77 lakh square feet.
The State Government is required by the agreement to create the infrastructure, which includes work sheds, a power supply, water, and other services. Texport will install its own equipment to launch production. As a result, the State invested Rs. 64 crore on infrastructure development projects, which are presently in their final stages.
By deploying 800 machines, the company will initially employ 1,600 people. Later, 1,000 machines will be added, resulting in the employment of around 2,000 people over the following three years. In its Sircilla facility, Texport will produce T-shirts and undergarments.
