To support the textile and apparel industry, Sowtex Network continues to organise knowledge series in which various industry experts share how textile and apparel industry can move forward in these tough times of pandemic.
In this series, renowned expert Dr. Rajesh Bheda who is also MD, Rajesh Bheda Consulting (RBC), shared his detailed views on “Fashioning the future: towards Operational Excellence.”
He highlighted interesting points regarding how to approach an opportunity and emphasised on profit through quality. Besides, important aspects like productivity, lean management, the role of training and how to fix the broken supply chain were also discussed in detail.
In his presentation, Dr. Bheda highlighted that as far as the cost of quality is concerned, the average Indian apparel manufacturer has the same 14.1 per cent, while world-class apparel manufacturers have just 2.5 per cent. Indian companies need to work on this front, which will help them reduce their overall costing.
Right from factory efficiency to on-time delivery, Indian companies can improve a lot.
It was also insisted that in current conditions, everyone in the supply chain has to be practical.
