Telangana has been taking lead to attract investment in the textile and apparel manufacturing industry, and now the state is further geared up to attract more investors and is preparing a roadmap for the same.
In a meeting with Shailaja Ramaiyer, Textiles Commissioner and Venkat Narasimha Reddy, MD, TSIIC, KT Rama Rao, Handlooms Minister of the state, has directed to prepare a roadmap for further development and strengthening of the textiles sector in the state.
It is worth mentioning here that apparel export giants like Kitex Garments, Texport Industries, and a few other companies have announced to invest heavily in the state.

The Minister said the State Government programmes and policies that have been implemented in the last seven years for the welfare and development of weavers, were yielding good results.
He listed out innovative programmes and measures taken up by the Government for the welfare of weavers and development of textiles sector.
“Telangana Government has accorded top priority for the development of textiles sector which offers the highest employment after agriculture sector in the country. Focus is also on providing all amenities to strengthen the sector,” Rama Rao said, adding that under this initiative, the country’s biggest textile park – Kakatiya Textile Park– was set up in Telangana.
