Sourabh Pandey, CXO, Fulfilment and Experience, Meesho said, “Empowering SMBs, local manufacturers and logistics providers to scale their business is resulting in meaningful economic opportunities that is driving financial inclusion in these regions. As we approach the festive season, a peak time for our sellers, logistics partners, and customers, our aim is to make a significant impact by ensuring e-commerce is accessible and inclusive for all.”
The company added that in order to meet its needs for the holiday season, it hired 5 lakh seasonal workers this year. Meesho collaborates with several third-party logistics (3PL) companies, such as Delhivery, Ecom Express, Shadowfax, and Xpressbees. According to the statement, these logistics alliances with Valmo have contributed to the creation of 3.5 lakh seasonal work possibilities.
Presently, the e-commerce marketplace allows small businesses including SMBs, MSMEs, and individual entrepreneurs to sell their products under 30 categories. It offers pan-India logistics, payment services, and customer support capabilities to help them efficiently run their businesses online.
