Future Group-led department store chain Central has launched a new service ‘Store at your Door’.
The ingenious idea to aid shoppers can be availed by customers who register online for the service.
And what’s it about! The shoppers can choose from a vast range of brands and merchandise over a video chat with a personal shopper or explain their apparel needs to the consultant when they’re contacted.
A curated selection of the specified needs (such as kidswear, activewear, etc.) is then sent to the doorsteps of these customers for them to choose.
“While availing the service, customers can do virtual shopping from Central stores with help of video calling along with a Service Relationship Manager and in-store Stylists for a compelling shopping experience. ‘Store at your Door’ is one such initiative wherein our team is leaving no stone unturned to reach out to our customers’ doorstep,” explains Managing Director of Future Lifestyle Fashions (FLF), Vishnu Prasad.
The service began operating on 6 May and is only available in Bengaluru, Kochi, Mysore, Kolkata and Trivandrum, all of which fall in orange and green zones where non-essential products can be supplied.
While maintaining safety and hygiene, the staff is being equipped with sanitisers and the required PPE equipment for the deliveries.
Since its launch, over 2,000 customers have already availed the service and the ticket size for the service is also higher, reaching Rs. 5,000 and above instead of the average Rs. 3,500 in-store.
The retailer has seen an increase in the demand for loungewear, kids and infantwear and apparels that can be used to work from home.
Some stores in orange and green zones are slated to open soon including a Central store, 7 Brand Factory outlets and 20 stores of standalone brands like aLL, Indigo Nation among others that opened in Goa, Bengaluru and Guwahati yesterday.
