Ecco lovers in India can celebrate!
The Denmark-based shoe brand has unveiled its maiden store in the country at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon.
This is a part of brand’s efforts to explore Indian retail market and tap its full potential.
Further substantiating, Steen Borgholm, CEO, Ecco said “We see a strong demand from consumers who know what they want, and who appreciate the quality and consistent brand experience they get from Ecco.”
He also added “We continuously work to understand our customers better, and we hope to be able to convey the passion of our employees and our brand story to them.”
Going forward, Ecco India has big plans!
The brand plans to open 20 concept stores in major Indian cities in next 3 years. Besides, the first quarter of 2020 will see the brand come up with an online store that will give an opportunity to nearly 1.3 billion Indians to shop.
However, Ecco India will first focus on brand positioning. Michel Krol, EVP Global Sales, Ecco, maintained “We will first focus on positioning the brand in India as most of the consumers here are price sensitive.”
The four-decade-old brand has over 2,250 stores across the globe.
