As the country went under lockdown due to coronavirus, many offline retailers began to realise the need to go online. India’s first multi-brand luxury fashion retailer Ensemble too took the digital route.
Launched during the lockdown period, Ensemble’s e-commerce store seems to have picked up quite fast. The sales from the brand’s online portal have exceeded the expectations by a whopping 50 per cent.
Tina Tahiliani Parikh, Executive Director, Ensemble, shared in a recent statement with Mumbai Mirror that since all the offline stores were shut owing to the nationwide lockdown, when they unveiled their online store, they went on to do 50 per cent more business than they had budgeted for.
Some of the prominent brands that retail on Ensemble’s e-commerce store include TarunTahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Payal Singhal, Kshitij Jalori, Ituvana, Chola and Anushree Reddy among others.
The site ships internationally also.
Consumers can order online and collect their orders up from their nearby Ensemble stores.
On the other hand, the brand has reopened its offline boutiques in Delhi and Mumbai with a large-scale sale. Shoppers vising these stores are required to wear masks as well as follow other important hygiene measures to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Ensemble was co-founded by Tina’s brother Tarun Tahiliani, an eminent Indian fashion designer, and his wife Sailaja, in 1987.
