According to a recent report by Admitad, this year the festive season for online brands is expected to rake in Rs. 7.9 billion, which is around 3 times compared to last year’s festive season that touched Rs. 2.9 billion gross merchandise value (GMV).
Notably, the maximum number of orders across the country will be coming from fashion and apparels apart from baby products, furniture and homeware.
Fashion and apparels are expected to rise by 33 per cent.
As per the analysis, consumers will prefer online shopping to offline shopping – thereby increasing the hike in sales during the festive season.
Neha Kulwal, Country Manager, Admitad Affiliate India, said, “Brands have always looked up to festive season as their prime time to double the sales. An increasing number of brands are becoming more judicious about their marketing spends.”
It should be mentioned here that festive season is the biggest season for Indian apparel market and this year stakeholders have high hopes as the speedy vaccination process across the country as well as fall in COVID-19 cases is giving positive signs.
Nearly all top e-commerce platforms have announced their festival sales.
