Online retailer Flipkart on Monday announced the launch of Flipkart Leap – its first start-up accelerator programme.
The e-commerce major mentioned in a statement that the programme will first identify B2C and B2B start-ups, followed by supporting them scale through a rigorous 16-week virtual programme.
Call-for-entries began yesterday under the accelerator programme.
The statement further highlighted that Flipkart Lead will offer master class sessions, hosted by industry experts, to the selected start-ups.
In addition, the company’s leaders from various domains including business, operations, product and technology will mentor these start-ups, also sharing the industry’s best practices with them.
There will be five themes to shortlist high-potential start-ups – Design & Make for India, Innovation in Digital Commerce, Technologies to Empower the Retail Ecosystem, Supply Chain Management & Logistics and Enabling Relevant Deep Tech applications.
Flipkart aims to bring digitisation and technology advancement in the aforementioned thematic areas. This includes start-ups, working on disruptive solutions, with the potential to transform the landscape of e-commerce in the next 5 years.
