In the unlock phase, people have now started stepping out to be a part of the new normal. Having realised the worth of offering a safer shopping experience for the conscious consumer, retailers are going the extra mile!
South City Mall, South Kolkata’s leading shopping centre, managed to gain customers’ trust in a very limited time.
The mall has been witnessing its sales going up since the shopping centres reopened on 8 June. While it saw footfalls of 6,500 on the first day of reopening, it increased to 9,500 over the first weekend after reopening.
Man Mohan Bagree, Vice President, South City Projects, expresses his hopes that the “upcoming festive month shall attract more consumers.”
According to the latest figures, South City Mall has registered the maximum weekend footfall of more than 18,000 and maximum weekday footfall of almost 12,000.
Middle-aged and young shoppers have been observed frequenting the said mall, whereas there have been no senior citizens among the visitors.
Man Mohan shares that the mall has been experiencing “decent growth week on week since mid-July 2020.”
It must be highlighted here that fashion has been one of the top categories amongst the shoppers at South City Mall. Leading brands Zara and Forever 21 clocked the maximum sale of Rs. 16,74,000 and Rs. 1,16,608 in single day, respectively.
