Mango, the European fashion brand, has opened a new flagship store in Bengaluru in a bid to further strengthen its retail presence in India.
The new store is spread across an area of 5,500 square feet in the Indiranagar shopping centre and has two floors that house women’s, men’s and kids’ lines under a single roof, which is a first for any Mango store in India.
Mango sees a huge potential for growth in Inaid and the launch of this new store is in line with the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Asia and India. India has become the country in Asia with the highest number of points of sale for the company with 80 at the end of 2022 which is up three times from 28 in 2020.
The brand has aggressive plans for expansion in India which include opening more than 35 new stores and take the total store network for Mango in India to more than 110 by the end of the year.
Commenting on the expansion, Daniel López, Mango’s expansion director in a statement said, “India is one of the most important markets in our internationalisation strategy, because, according to all forecasts, this country is destined to become the third-largest consumer market in the world within the next few years and we want Mango to have a significant presence in it.”
Mango has also partnered with Flipkart-owned fashion retailer Myntra to help widen its presence in the offline and online space in India.
