Popular Indian brand Wildcraft, which retails outerwear and goods, has announced that it expects to rake in revenue of Rs. 1,000 crore (US $ 132.4 million) this year, despite the huge setback caused by the outbreak of the pandemic.
Expecting to become the biggest lifestyle player in India, beating out giants like Nike, Puma, adidas and Reebok, the company has diversified its offerings to include personal protective equipment (PPE) and masks, which is the need of the hour.
Wildcraft has made quite a name for itself by tapping a market that was previously not well catered to and expects to increase production as the lockdown is phased out in the country.
They are looking at deploying a workforce of around 1 lakh for the scaling up of manufacturing and distribution.
Founders Gaurav Dublish and Siddharth Sood, who started the company in 2008, are positive of its growth trajectory in India, setting a target of crossing Rs. 1,000 crore in 2020 after a turnover of Rs. 400 in FY17 and Rs. 500 crore in FY18.
