Color n Style, a Noida (India)-based printing and process house, is planning to expand its rotary printing capacity with an investment of around Rs. 4 crores. The company started rotary printing three months back. Its current capacity stands at 30,000 metres per day.
Girish Wason, Director of the company, told Apparel Resources, “We are planning to enhance our rotary printing capacity by next year. We are expecting the coming season from September to March to remain well, and if things move according to our plans, we will surely further expand our capacity.”
Color n Style has expertise in printing, capitalising on which it ventured into digital printing last year. The company’s digital printing capacity is 2,000 metres per day.
However, ‘price’ emerged as a big challenge for the company in the digital printing segment, especially because of tough competition from Surat. Girish feels that prices of ink and paper are still high. Additionally, Surat-based digital printing mills/job workers are working for the domestic market and have bulk orders while in Delhi-NCR, orders are normally for 250 to 350 metres, so price can’t be the same in both the regions.
Limited orders in the digital printing segment coupled with aforementioned challenges propelled Color n Style to expand in rotary printing as it emerges to be a more suitable option for the company with strong profit prospects.
At present, the company is witnessing more business in the domestic market compared to exports.
