PM Modi’s call for ‘Vocal for Local’ has been heard far and wide with a number of companies doing their bit to promote the cause.
The challenges brought on by the onset of the pandemic and now the renewed tensions at the border with China have prompted leading footwear brand Liberty to change their business acumen.
Liberty Shoes wants to help retailers, MBO owners and small businessmen in their endeavour to source products locally with the #MajbootKadamTayaarHumcampaign launched under Barun Prabhakar, Marketing Head.
This move has been formulated with the basic idea to help businessmen in developing and nurturing home-grown supply chains as many brands still rely on China for importing goods and raw materials due to their timeliness and cost efficiency.
The new campaign by Liberty also promotes the cause for #AtmaNirbharBharat, speaking about which Executive Director Retail Liberty Shoes, said, “The current situation due to the pandemic and the growing tensions between India and China have impacted the trade relations in terms of imports and exports, leading to disruption of the global supply chain. To help the nation come out of this economic challenge and promote the Vocal for Local campaign, Liberty is now reaching out to the Retailers and MBO owners and small businessmen who were earlier dependent on China for exports. We will provide them the required products directly from our stores for an economical price range, especially catering to the population in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns thus bridging the gap created.”
Liberty Shoes currently boasts of 6 manufacturing units producing over 50,000 pairs of footwear per day to be sold through a massive network of 6,000 MBOs and 250 exclusive outlets in 25 countries.
