Supporting the industry in a big way, the Rajasthan State Government will now give a subsidy of Rs. 2 crore for Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)-based Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) – notably, it was just Rs. 50 lakh so far.
Detailed notification of the same has been issued.
Rajasthan, known for its textile and apparel hubs like Jaipur, Bhilwara, Pali, Balotara, Jodhpur, Bhiwadi and Kishangarh, will benefit from this decision of Government.
Industry, especially in Pali, has been strongly lobbying for the same in recent times, and now with this decision of the State Government, there is relief in the industry.
It is pertinent to mention here that since decades, Pali-based textile entrepreneurs have been struggling on the environment front. With the aforementioned initiative, they will now be able to invest in sustainable technology.
There are around 800 small and big textile units in Pali. Just a few days back it was highlighted that the Luni River has been polluted owing to effluents being discharged from the textile facilities in Pali and Balotara.
