Siva V. Meyyanathan, Minister for Environment & Pollution Control, Tamil Nadu has assured full support of the State Government to the apparel industry of the state.
He also urged the industry to follow all rules and regulations.
While visiting Jeyavishnu Clothing (dyeing unit of leading export house KM Knitwear), the minister said that there are ample opportunities for the apparel manufacturing industry and the State Government will do its best to support the industry.
It is pertinent to mention here that the new Government took charge just two months ago in Tamil Nadu.
The minister visited this zone for initial inspection and to know about the position and functioning of Individual Effluent Treatment Plant (IETP) and Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP).
The minister, accompanied by M P Saminathan, Minister for Information & Publicity and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare and senior officials, spent 45 minutes in the unit and understood the process of working of dyeing unit.
Vishnuprabu KS, JMD, Jeyavishnu Clothing said, “The minister was really impressed with the way factory’s house keeping was maintained. He praised us for our advanced technology investment in this field. We also discussed what the Government has to do further to enhance ease of functioning.”
