Rajasthan’s leading textile city is annoyed over the State Government’s move to propose the name of Jodhpur to the Union Government for the textile park under PM MITRA (Mega integrated textile Region and Apparel) scheme.
The local textile entrepreneurs have written letters to PM Narendra Modi, State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and many others and demanded that Bhilwara, being a textile hub, deserves the mega-park most.
Kailash Soni, representing Rajasthan Janmanch, has said that it is a well-known fact that Bhilwara is a brand in Rajasthan’s textile industry, while Jodhpur is known for handicraft, and therefore, there is no reason to reject Bhilwara and propose Jodhpur’s name.
Bhilwara is home to many top textile companies and has around more than 1 million spindles and over 16,000 power looms producing daily fabric worth Rs. 100 crore.
Recently, many top companies of Bhilwara also announced expansion plans and huge investment.
