Narinder Mohan Sharma (65), the founder of Knit World Exhibition, Ludhiana recently passed away. According to reports, he was not keeping well since last few days. The industry, specially Ludhiana’s knitting players, have paid homage to him. He is survived by his wife, daughter and son-in-law.
Narinder Mohan’s contribution to the development of Ludhiana’s textile and apparel industry remains unparalled. He founded Knit World event in 1995 and it is to his credit that so far 25 successful editions of this event have taken place. The platform has proved to be fruitful for the technology suppliers from Ludhiana as well as from across the globe to enhance their market reach.
Along with Knit World Exhibition, Narinder Mohan was also publishing Hosiery and Textile journal magazine (dedicated to knitting and textile industry).
Ram Krishan, Chairman, GMMSA (Garments Machinery Manufacturers and Suppliers Association) and Proprietorship of Paradise Engineering Corporation who has more than 4-decade-old relations with Narinder Mohan told, “His death is a big loss for Ludhiana. We have lost a good human being who was instrumental in taking Ludhiana’s industry miles ahead. His contribution to Ludhiana’s textile and apparel industry is unmatched.”
