The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) has announced its new office bearers.
After the 60th AGM of SIMA got concluded, the new members of the committee at its first meeting unanimously elected its new office bearers.
While Ashwin Chandran, CMD, Precot Meridien Limited, Coimbatore has been elected as the Chairman of the association, Ravi Sam, MD, Adwaith Textiles, Coimbatore, will be the Deputy Chairman for the year 2019-20. SK Sundararaman, MD, Shiva Texyarn Limited, Dindigul, has been elected the Vice-Chairman.
Ashwin Chandran, Graduate in Textile Technology, and MBA from University of Illinois, US, is a member of Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council and Confederation of Indian Textile Industry.
Ravi Sam, Post-graduate in Textile Technology from The University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology, is founder Trustee of Siruthuli, the movement of preservation of water bodies in Coimbatore. He was the Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu and is currently the Chairman of CII SR Sub Committee on Sustainability, CSR & Affirmative Action to bring inclusiveness to the marginalised sectors of the society covering southern states.
SK Sundararaman holds an MBBS Degree and Masters in Business Management from Cambridge University. He is a well-known personality in the field of Technical Textiles in India and Technical Education, and is also the Chairman of Indian Technical Textile Association.
Established in 1933, SIMA represents the entire textile value chain in South India and has over 500 members covering all the sectors (fibre to finishing).
