In Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel gave the Fabexa Fabric Sourcing Expo 2024 its official opening. It seeks to strengthen Ahmedabad’s standing as a significant producer of natural fabrics and cotton for both domestic and foreign markets.
Sanjeev Chaturvedi, vice-president for domestic marketing in Reliance Industries Ltd’s textiles division, said, “Gujarat has a strong base in the textile industry. In India, the share of the organized sector in the textile industry is low and needs to increase. Bangladesh has strong base in garment making, but India is far ahead in fashion and Indian manufacturers have great opportunities in the global market.”
The ninetieth edition of Fabexa, which is organised by Maskati Cloth Market Mahajan, attracted over 100 exhibitors and is anticipated to bring 10,000 consumers from over the nation, according to Gaurang Bhagat, president of the organisation.
Every national textile association has been invited by the organisers. Ahmedabad has reinforced its position in the shirtings, dress materials, and bedsheets categories, according to Naresh Sharma, secretary of Maskati Mahajan. He thinks fabric orders for the upcoming festival season will come from the fair. Digital printing equipment has also been widely used in the city, which will help the regional economy by bringing in orders from all over the nation.
