First 3 months of 2021 will see 4 physical shows for Indian textile and apparel industry in Surat, Ludhiana, Mumbai and Greater Noida – distinctly showing that Indian textile and apparel industry is getting ready for physical shows.
Organisers are all geared up for the usual buzz that has always been a part of such exhibitions.
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has come forward and announced to organise the 5th edition of ‘Surat International Textile Expo- SITEX-2021’ from 9 to 11 January 2021 at Surat.
The event will focus on all sub-segments of the textile sector like machinery, accessories, yarn and fabrics.
Spread over an area of approximately 10,500 square metres, the event expects more than 100 exhibitors and international visitors from Vietnam, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Ashish Gujarati, Vice President, SGGCI, says that this event will be the first of its kind (i.e., physical event) post lockdown in Gujarat.
Following the orders on social distancing under COVID-19 guidelines, the Chamber has ensured full compliance to the guidelines issued by the State & Central Government and said that it will not allow spot registration of visitors during the exhibition.
All interested visitors have to register online to gain entry into the exhibition premises.

On the other hand, Ludhiana is ready with the 6th edition of its well-known event GMMSA Expo, to be organised by Garments Machinery Manufacturers & Suppliers Association, from 26 February to 1 March.
The event, dedicated to machinery of circular and flat knitting machines, garment manufacturing and value addition machines, trims, etc., attracts large visitor base from across India.
It is also pertinent to mention here that Gartex Texprocess India has already announced its show in Mumbai, which is scheduled to take place from 18 to 20 March. Online registration for the event has already started.
Apart from technology events, sourcing expo has also been announced. The 51st Edition of IHGF–Delhi fair Spring’ 2021 of EPCH is being planned from 13 to 17 March 2021 at Greater Noida.
“Although COVID cases in India have drastically slashed down but recent developments in UK are really pressing to review the preparation for IHGF Delhi Fair,” said Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH.
He further added that vaccination with respect to COVID-19 has started with full swing in many overseas countries and with this initiative, the whole world including India is going to be benefited. He hopes to resume normal business activities.
