This for That, India’s first fashion swapping platform and SUSS (Sustainable Style Speak) recently announced Delhi’s biggest swap fest, The Wardrobe of Stories to be held on October 13 at the Fab Cafe, Aerocity, New Delhi. The event is to highlight the sustainable cause of exchange of merchandise like beautiful sarees, ethnic wear, jhumkas, bags, shoes, shirts rather than buying new items.
With indian festival Diwali being round the corner, sales tend to spike as all brands and retailers give out festive season discounts and promotions. In fact, festive season accounts for as much as 40% of annual sales for most retailers. With the boom of fashion industry, comes the environmental implications and that’s why this festive season will witness an excellent way of renewing wardrobes by exchanging items that have no use with something that can be worn for the next season.
A pop-up will be set up for people to change and re-purpose some of their clothes. The entry is free and every visitor needs to submit at least 3 good quality pieces. A team will be present throughout the event to facilitate a smooth swapping experience for attendees.
