FDCI and Lakmé Fashion Week have just announced the dates for the much anticipated opening show for the second edition of the duo’s ‘phygital’ fashion week.
Veteran designer Tarun Tahiliani will be opening the prestigious Lakme Fashion Week in collaboration with the FDCI with a digital showcase on 5 October 2021 followed by a physical fashion show, which will take place on 7 October 2021.
With more than three decades of experience, Tarun Tahiliani has left an indelible mark on the fashion industry. Be it reimagining the classic Indian drapes or adding an artisanal quality to any look, Tahiliani has created a seminal body of work by pushing the envelope while staying true to his roots, as they sink deeper into his heritage, our Indian landscape and offer contemporary solutions.
Tahiliani will be presenting his AW’21 Collection, titled ‘The Reunion’, a collection that marks a beautiful synthesis of craft rich aesthetics with a subtle yet modern touch.
With the pandemic not only bringing about a drastic change in our lifestyle but also the way we dress, Tahiliani’s latest collection is a fresh break from the overused sweatpants and urges a change in the mindset of the consumers, with an eagerness to celebrate Indian fashion once again.
“With great joy, we return to open Lakme Fashion Week, where we will be showcasing our first serious fashion collection of draped evening lehengas and occasion-wear with a serious fashion twist as opposed to a bridal bent.” Tarun Tahiliani said.
Imaginative, vividly coloured and designed to showcase Tarun’s signature drapes with a contemporary twist, the upcoming month will mark the launch of Tahiliani’s Fashion ’21 collection that marries craft-rich aesthetics with a refined yet modern approach.
