Santoni, the Italian knitting machinery manufacturer, has joined forces with the Israel-based nylon fibre specialist, Nilit; for an entire new high-performance athletic wear collection. The collection has incorporated the seamless technology provided by Santoni and will be first displayed at the Outdoor Retailer event in Salt Lake City, Utah the following week.
Under the collaboration, the athletic wear collection has been manufactured with the processing of Nilit’s Nylon 6.6 yarns and the use of Santoni’s patented fine gauge (40G) knitting machine SM8/TOP2V. The error-free knitting techniques result in building a compressive force on the surfaces of the garment which further helps in providing the garment with a better grip on the body.
Santoni’s SM8/TOP2V machine also enables the precise location of thermal pockets in the garment that regulate the body heat using air circulation through inlet and outlet ports. Working as a cooling sensation, the collection also features Nilit’s Sensil Breeze technology which is said to bring the body temperature down through its proven parameters.
Furthermore, the athleticwear collection aims to provide ‘Green’ solutions in the market. Since Santoni’s SM8/TOP2 V knitting machine is certified with the ‘Green Label’, it offers 30 per cent less carbon emission footprint than its earlier models.
Santoni and Nilit, in a joint declaration, explained, “The range of athletic designs in the Santoni/Nilit capsule collection shows the versatility of both the machinery and the yarns. By working together, Santoni and Nilit have created special apparel products that meet the needs of the outdoor consumer with fashionable, lightweight, beautifully-constructed garments that cool, support, and enhance comfort and appearance.”
