Technology providers including suppliers of attachments and folders are facing stiff competition from cheap imitations that not only spoil the image of the brand but also play on the quality of the final product stitched, hence tarnishing the reputation of the country as a low quality supplier!
Recognizing this H.S. Passricha, MD, Nav-Yug Sewing Machine Co., has taken it upon himself to lead the campaign against piracy. After spearheading a “general meet GTE-’08” in Bangalore against counterfeiting earlier this year, the company is now taking the initiative forward with a signature campaign for committed unity against piracy to strengthen the anti-imitation drive.
“The response has been tremendous and many players from the industry are coming and putting in their signatures as a commitment to fight against counterfeiting and piracy,” said Passricha. The company already has an anti-piracy cell and encourages customers to report cases directly for investigation. The companies which have enlisted themselves and assured of their complete support in this noble endeavour include the HCA Garment Machinery Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi; Mahaveer Industrial Suppliers Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore; Ketan Enterprises, Mumbai; Sunny International, Kolkata; Kumar Agencies, Chennai; S.J. International, Mumbai; Imperial Sewing Machinery Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai; B.P. Degda Impex, Mumbai; Bharat Sewing Machine, Bangalore; Gaylord Machinery Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore; Imperial Enterprises, Mumbai; Industrial Sewing Machine & Spares, Mumbai; J. Kumar & Sons, Mumbai; Jay Cee Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi; Magnum Resources Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi; Narula Sewing Machine Co., New Delhi; Paul Bros & Co. Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi; Satnam Sales Corporation, New Delhi; Sewing Machineries & Spares, Kolkata; Sleek Corporation, Bangalore; Suraj Sales Corporation, New Delhi; Harison, Mumbai; besides several other machine spare parts manufacturers, sewing machine dealers, etc. They all have resorted and given their support to this mission.
Supporting the sincere effort, StitchWorld also came forward to be a part of the signature campaign.
During the discussion, Passricha informed that they have began the signature campaign to counter this menace as they would not like to get into any sort of legal hurdles and spoil relations with the existing customers. He also requested such elements who have stepped on to the wrong tracks to withdraw their steps. “It is always good to get an amicable solution within the business fraternity itself, rather than involving oneself into unnecessary legal problems,” he concluded.
