Okhla Garment and Textile Cluster (OGTC) is preparing apparel factories to be Industry 4.0 ready with Zilingo apparel factory software.
The information was shared by a recent newsletter of OGTC themed – “Leadership during COVID-19 Crisis”. According to the newsletter, the current manufacturing evolution takes aspects from the third industrial revolution and enhances them with the addition of automated and digital technology – Industry 4.0 to be precise.
In order to enable apparel manufacturers to fully embrace Industry 4.0 concept, OGTC has endorsed Zilingo factory software which allows for smooth integration with 4.0 principle and conversion into smart factories in 4 ways.
One of the 4 ways is – Modules that allow for data entry and digitisation thereby leading to Interoperability. This is to bridge the gap between information shared across objects, machines and people. “Zilingo factory provides a cloud-based platform for data integration and digitisation that allows for interoperability,” shared OGTC.
The second way is the digitisation of operational data giving way for ‘Virtualisation’.As per OGTC, the Zilingo factory software provides the required tools for accurate data entry into software systems, thereby making operations paperless.
Another aspect shared in the letter is – Real time data available on-demand allows for Decentralisation. The software of Zilingo is able to provide timely predictability and automatic escalation of data in case of underperformance thus enabling decentralisation.
The last aspect shared in the newsletter is – TV Dashboards and multi-device accessibility leading to real-time Capability. Through the deployment of apps that are accessible across devices; TV dashboards that are accessible on the factory floor; and automated reports, Zilingo factory software provides tools for real-time solutions.
OGTC further reveals that the deployment of the Zilingo factory software to the cluster’s members, in particular, has resulted in significant improvement in efficiency and DHU levels amongst other metrics.
“One of the OGTC members, which uses Zilingo factory software across all of their factories, has seen a 1.26 per cent reduction in average DHU – along with witnessing an increase in efficiency of almost 8 per cent, with the improved processes based on Zilingo factory software,” informed OGTC.
