The Government of Chhattisgarh has partnered with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) as a Partner State in a major step to bolster India’s garment and textile industry. The goal of this partnership is to leverage the state’s strong Textile Policy to promote employment, investment, and growth in the Indian apparel sector.
The Government of Chhattisgarh organised a roadshow in Mumbai, which was visited by a CMAI delegation headed by President Santosh Katariya, Naveen Sainani, General Secretary & Chairman of the FAB Show, Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor, and Aanurag Dhoot, Senior Director. After the roadshow, the delegation met behind closed doors with senior policymakers and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
The idea to designate the state as a Partner State and link it to CMAI activities was finalised during the discussions. In keeping with its forward-thinking Textile Policy, this collaboration demonstrates the state’s dedication to creating a flourishing textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem.
Regarding the subsequent collaboration, CMAI President Santosh Katariya stated that the Indian apparel sector may look to Chhattisgarh with optimism for future growth, acknowledging the state’s enormous potential.
It is anticipated that the partnership between the CMAI and the Government of Chhattisgarh would strengthen the Make in India campaign, open up new business prospects, and establish the state as a major hub for the Indian textile and apparel industry.
