Construction activity has begun at the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, with several large textile units already working on their facilities. Other companies are expected to start construction after the monsoon season, as they complete lease formalities and take possession of their allotted plots.
The park has so far attracted investment proposals from 38 companies worth more than Rs 21,500 crore, with around 1,140 acres allotted to industries. Key investors include Jain Cord Industries Pvt Ltd, which plans to invest Rs 2,515 crore across 58 acres, with production targeted by 2028, and Vibrant Polymers LLP, which has an initial investment of Rs 50.61 crore. Other identified investors include Vansh Technofab Pvt Ltd, Sanathan Polycot Pvt Ltd and Bhilosa Industries.
“The lease deed process is in progress. Large industries are already in the construction phase, while others are expected to start construction after the rainy season,” said Sanjay Bolya, Vice-President at a textile firm.
Several companies are targeting at least a partial rollout of production by 2028, with construction activity expected to accelerate once the monsoon ends and more firms complete their lease agreements and begin work on their allotted sites.
Meanwhile, infrastructure development is progressing across the park. Works worth more than Rs 700 crore are being undertaken for roads, water supply, power, drainage and other common facilities. The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) had floated infrastructure tenders worth Rs 773 crore earlier this year.
The first phase of the PM MITRA Park is being developed across 2,158 acres in Dhar district at a cost of more than Rs 2,050 crore. The development is aimed at creating an integrated textile and apparel manufacturing ecosystem with supporting infrastructure and common facilities.
Dhar is among the seven PM MITRA parks approved under the Central Government’s scheme. The parks are located across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
With major investors moving into the construction phase and additional companies expected to commence work after the monsoon, activity at the Dhar park is likely to gather pace in the coming months.
