Yes, nearly 50 per cent of the coverall production in the country is coming from Bengaluru – one of the leading apparel manufacturing hubs of India.
Notably, well-known companies like Shahi Exports and many more are involved in the production of coverall.
As per Ministry of Textiles, other leading apparel manufacturing hubs like Chennai and Tirupur in Tamil Nadu, Phagwara and Ludhiana in Punjab, Kusumnagar and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra, Dungarpur in Rajasthan, Kolkata in West Bengal, Delhi, Gurugram and Noida in NCR have also become hubs for PPE coverall production.
Across India, there are hundreds of companies who are supporting the society by making PPE and also creating commercial opportunities for themselves.
As there are still some issues regarding raw materials and machines for PPE, the Government is working with various industry bodies and manufacturers to streamline supply chain, remove bottlenecks and maintain a steady supply.
Indian garment manufacturing industry is looking at this product category as a permanent product in their product basket.
