Apparel exporter Gokaldas Exports has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities with the appointment of Sreeja Balachandra as Associate Vice President, signalling a renewed focus on operational efficiency and process excellence.
Balachandra will spearhead transformation initiatives across the company’s manufacturing units, with an emphasis on lean systems, process optimisation, and capability building. The move reflects a broader strategic push to enhance productivity and competitiveness within India’s export-oriented apparel sector.
Her appointment comes at a time when Indian textile exporters are navigating rising cost pressures and increasingly stringent global compliance requirements. Industry experts suggest that structured manufacturing excellence frameworks could deliver efficiency gains of 15 to 25 per cent in large-scale factories, underscoring the importance of such leadership roles.
Balachandra brings extensive industry experience, having previously worked with leading firms including Classic Fashion Apparel Industry, Texport Overseas, Shahi Exports, and Bhartiya International. In addition, she serves on the advisory board of the National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur, highlighting her involvement in strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
With this leadership addition, Gokaldas Exports appears to be reinforcing its long-term manufacturing strategy, aiming to improve operational resilience and sustain growth in an increasingly competitive global apparel market.
