Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged sector-wise planning, modernisation, and inclusive policies that extend to the local level in order to address Vidarbha’s industrial growth in a thorough and balanced manner.
The Minister highlighted that development must be region-wide, utilising the capabilities of each district to unlock Vidarbha’s full potential during the formal release of the “Advantage Vidarbha – 2025” report on Saturday.
“Vidarbha’s growth shouldn’t be limited to a single city. From the silk and handloom industry in Dhapewada to the textiles in Amravati, we must capitalise on each district’s distinct assets and strengths,” Gadkari stated.
In order to provide more job prospects in rural regions, he mentioned intentions to introduce electric looms and mentioned the opening of a new non-profit textile firm in Dhapewada that employs over 1,500 women.
Gadkari also emphasised new prospects in the textile industry, pointing out that Amravati has the potential to become the region’s preeminent textile centre. He said that in order to empower rural craftsmen and link them to domestic and international markets, technology and automation must be included into textile printing and production.
