Ricky Sahni, Joint Managing Director (JMD) of Garment Technology Exhibition (GTE), passed away recently while on an official visit to Tirupur. He reportedly felt unwell during the trip and passed away a few hours later, with cardiac arrest believed to be the cause. He was 65. Sahni is survived by his parents, wife, and sister.
For nearly 25 years, he played a pivotal role in bringing technology and trim suppliers together on one platform, connecting them with apparel manufacturers across India. His efforts significantly expanded business opportunities for machinery companies while making the latest technology accessible to small and emerging manufacturing hubs, particularly in semi-organised and unorganised segments of the apparel industry.
Most recently, Sahni spearheaded GTE’s collaboration with India Expo Mart Ltd. to broaden the exhibition’s reach.
“With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Ricky Sahni, a man of vision and grace, whose life was defined by generosity of spirit, quiet strength and an unwavering commitment to those around him. His presence enriched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and inspiration”, GTE said in its grievance message.
