Despite many challenge, many micro and small firms are doing well and expanding. One such firm is the Delhi-based Swastik Health Wear.
The firm currently employs more than 150 people, and has made plans to invest around Rs. 1.50 crore to add capacities, create jobs and enhance product basket.
Currently, it is having around 300 articles in its product basket which covers three major product categories athleisure wear, sportswear, and sports accessories. Now moving forward, it is adding performance-wear in its product basket.
Rohit Ahuja, Director of the firm says, “Big product basket naturally attracts more clients, and so adding new products is highly important. We choose performance wear as we have strength in this segment and also have clients for the same.
Notably, sportswear is a category that has noticed good growth in recent months.
Rohit told that to control cost, he tried to produce in-house, whatever is possible, with extra efforts; for instance, adhesive is also being developed in-house for seamless garments, he said.
“Common issues of the market don’t matter much as they are same for all, and market gets used to such issues gradually. Also, individual’s efforts matter a lot. With proactive and progressive approach, we have availed the benefit of ATUF scheme. Our working in an organised way also helped us. The liquidity crunch is going to dominate, but we have to manage it,” says Rohit who is expecting 25 per cent growth after this expansion.
Having its own brand and strong network of dealers, the firm also works for other leading brands.
