Uttar Pradesh’s Apparel Park in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Area is witnessing swift development, with around 90% of its industrial plots already allotted to textile and garment units, officials said on Sunday. The milestone underscores growing investor confidence and could significantly bolster the state’s textile export potential.
The project, overseen by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), spans approximately 175 acres with 173 industrial plots designed for apparel and related textile businesses. Of these, 156 plots have now been secured by firms, leaving only 17 plots vacant.
Lease deeds have been executed for more than 100 units and physical possession of plots has been handed over to numerous investors, leading to construction activity in several cases. Industry representatives say this rapid pace of allotment reflects strong interest from both domestic and export-focused enterprises seeking to capitalise on improved infrastructure and logistics connectivity in the region.
Officials from the state government have highlighted the project’s importance in generating employment for local youth and positioning Uttar Pradesh as a significant textile export hub. With its proximity to the Yamuna Expressway, the upcoming Noida International Airport and major markets in the National Capital Region, the Apparel Park is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs while accelerating the state’s exports of ready-to-wear garments and textiles.
While about 17 plots covering roughly 33.5 acres remain unallotted due to land acquisition formalities, authorities said efforts are underway to complete these clearances promptly to maintain the project’s momentum.
The apparel park forms part of a broader industrial push by the Uttar Pradesh government aimed at strengthening the textile sector, complementing other initiatives and investment proposals across the state.
