
Madhya Pradesh (MP) is attracting huge investment from Indian textile and apparel companies.
In a round table conference held in Delhi, various apparel and textile firms have announced investments of more than Rs. 3,200 crore in MP.
Among those, Pratibha Syntex, one of the leading Indian apparel exporters, will set up a textile park for MSME units in Indore at an investment of Rs. 100 crore in assistance with Apparel Export Promotion Council (APEC).
Importantly, all these investments are expected to create employment of around 14,000 people.
Along with the Chief Minister of the state Kamal Nath, most of the senior officials of the state and top management of many companies were present at the conference.
Dilip Gaur, MD, Grasim Industries also addressed the event and said, “MP is the state with best supportive Government and bureaucracy; I can say this with my global experience. Textile is all about sustainability and we are committed to it.”

These companies will have their plants covering major cities across the state like Bhopal, Gwalior and Indore.
Addressing the industry, Kamal Nath assured that more incentives are on the way for textile and garment sector in the state. “MP will devise more incentives for manufacturing of textile and apparels from organic cotton. A committee including cotton farmers, manufacturers and stakeholders has been formed to promote use of cotton in garment,” he added.
Now, garment units outside the industrial/textile parks will be eligible for incentives offered under the garment sector package of State Government garment policy.
For setting up of investment projects in the state, MP is offering immediate clearances and licenses for up to 40 services within 7 working days under the Time Bound Clearance Act.
“In MP, textile industry has been a traditional sector. We have abundant raw materials, cheap power, land and skilled labour. Organic is the future of textiles,” said SR Mohanty, Chief Secretary of the state who assured all support to the companies investing in MP.
