For fast track resolution of issues being faced by the dyeing and textile industry, Ludhiana-based Punjab Dyers Association (PDA) has joined hands with the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU).
PDA represents the dyeing industry, whose issues have so far remained on the back burner, while CICU is registered as a non-profit making society, which represents the industry and trade sectors of Punjab. It has direct membership of more than 1,200 enterprises and an indirect membership of 13,000 enterprises of 34 different associations affiliated with it as associate members.
A joint meeting in this regard was held, which saw participation from Varinder Sharma, Director, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute, Harvinder Singh, Sanchi Processor, Vishal Jain, Amar Dyers, Harminder Singh, Sky Clothing and Rahul Verma, Gulab. The meeting discussed the issues being faced by the textile industry.
The PDA is strongly of the opinion that industry is passing through a crucial time and textile industry is not running according to expectations. There are number of issues with State and Central Governments, which need to be resolved.
Notably, major issues are related to GST departments, Punjab Housing and Urban Development, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and customs department. CICU will always fight for the cause of the industry and these issues bothering the dyeing and textile industries too will be resolved at the earliest.
“PDA has joined hands with CICU, which will further strengthen industrial unity and will make both the associations more powerful. Now CICU, which already represents dozens of industrial sectors, will also represent the dyeing industry,” said Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of CICU.
