Much to the shock of workers, a Noida-based garment factory has disappeared overnight.Around 250 workers have, consequently, claimed that they have been cheated and are now unemployed.
As per media reports, workers said that they have not been paid since last two months.The workers also added that they were assured of payment on 1 or 2 February, but when they reached the factory in the morning, they couldn’t find any trace of the factory with all machines and raw materials being shifted elsewhere.
The workers also said that the factory was operational since last three years and had been working for overseas market.
Agitated workers shouted slogans outside the factory gate and demanded action against the factory management.
As per media reports, police have filed the case and started investigation of the matter.
Noida is one of the leading hubs of apparel manufacturing,with thousands of garment factories in the city.
