PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) parks would be set up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, MP and UP.

The prime minister also tweeted that the PM MITRA mega textile parks will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for the textiles sector, attract investment of crores and create lakhs of jobs. It will be a great example of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make For the World’.
Several states such as Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana had expressed interest in these parks.

This cluster-based approach will enhance the quality and competitiveness of our products, boost exports and strengthen India’s position in global supply chains. It is an unmissable opportunity for investors, manufacturers, exporters and international buyers.
Ministry of Textiles (MoT) has issued a notification to set up 7 PM MITRA Parks with a total outlay of Rs. 4,445 crore. These are aimed at helping India to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: ‘Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation’.
The Government has said that the PM MITRA Parks will have world-class industrial infrastructure which would attract cutting-edge technology and boost FDI and local investment in the textiles sector.
These Parks will offer an opportunity to create an integrated textiles value chain right from spinning, weaving, processing/dyeing and printing to garment manufacturing at one location and will reduce the logistics cost of the industry.
Each Park is intended to generate one lakh direct and two lakh indirect employment.
