Sanjeev Arora ‘Sunny’, the Ludhiana-based industrialist, philanthropist and MD of Ritesh Properties and Industries Limited who was recently picked by the Aam Aadmi Party for Rajya Sabha (Upper House), also has a textile connection. He owns Femella Fashions.
The company was started as a knitwear unit by Sanjeev’s late father Pran Arora, and was later taken over by Sanjeev. Currently, the Group’s company Femella Fashions is involved in the production of womenswear –majorly for the domestic market.
Kavya Arora, son of Sanjeev and third generation of the business,is also actively involved in the business.
As per the annual report of the company, textile has 42.32 per cent share in total turnover of the company.However,this has now reduced as the Group is focusing more on real estate and its investment business.
The company has also developed the Hampton Business Park on Ludhiana’s Chandigarh Road.
Sanjeev is also known for its CSR efforts as he is the Chairman of the Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust, which he founded in 2005 after his mother Krishna died of breast cancer. Later his father too succumbed to cancer.
