At this time when some companies are struggling for survival and few are going for expansion, there are companies like Superfine Knitters, Ludhiana, who are investing to improve its system through various ways. In a recent interaction with the Team Apparel Online, Ajit Lakra, Managing Director of the company and President of Ludhiana Knitters Association, talked in detail about the efforts his company is making to improve systems. “I strongly believe that this is the right time to improve our internal processes so we are trying to do this in a serious way.
Earlier we had 650 machines in two different factories but now we are bringing them under one roof. It is definitely going to help us to reduce our overheads and work will be faster and more productive compared to before. We are also going to implement 5S, our first step towards Lean. In addition, we have plans to install manual hanger system,” informed Ajit. The company has invested Rs. 10 lakh on all these improvements, apart from involving consultant Chandrajit Wickramasinghe for the same.
