India’s leading apparel manufacturer and exporter Pratibha Syntex, who is working with leading brands like C&A, H&M, Patagonia and Zara, is continuously taking steps for social welfare.
The company’s corporate social responsibility wing CMC Trust recently initiated a computer lab and dress design centre in a Government school at Sagore.
This initiative will benefit mainly the labour class as the majority of the 1,500 students in this school belong to the same. Courses offered in this computer lab are certified from IIT, Mumbai. The dress design centre also has facilities including pattern making, cutting, stitching and even dyeing also.
S K Chaudhary, founder of the company, inaugurated this lab recently.
The computer lab is well equipped with 24 computers, a server and an internet connection. A teacher has also been appointed at the lab by the trust. Similarly, the dress design and tailoring lab have a total of 11 machines including an embroidery machine. A professionally trained teacher has also been appointed in the school.
“Our leading light Shri Chhogmal Ji Chaudhary was an education enthusiast. He believed that spreading the light of education would bring a remarkable change in society. Following his footsteps, we have developed a computer lab and dress designing and tailoring lab in Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sagore. Our object is to promote rural infrastructure,” said Shreyaskar Chaudhary, MD of the company.
In another development, the company also developed a park in Jai Nagar, Pithampur and it is going to benefit around 6,000 residents of nearby areas. The park, spread in 21,000 sq. ft. area, has all basic amenities for kids as well as adults like swings, a walking track and a platform for yoga. The garden will benefit 6,000 residents of the area.
Established in 1997, Pratibha Syntex is a sustainably-oriented ‘farm-to-fashion’ company that employs more than 6,000 people and works with a network of roughly 35,000 farmers.
