In order to address the growing demand for industrial space, primarily from textile and apparel companies wishing to invest in the district—many of which have already started operations—the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) plans to build a new industrial area in Chitakheda of Neemuch district.
With certain businesses already operating in the region, other textile and apparel companies from Bhilwara, Rajasthan, have announced plans to invest in Neemuch district in recent months. The development plan is being developed, and the land for the proposed industrial sector has been secured.
MPIDC executive director Rajesh Rathod stated that Neemuch’s industrial expansion goes beyond textiles. There are more than 8,000 jobs created by investments in the completely inhabited Jhanjharwada industrial sector. In Chitakheda, the Government is creating a new industrial district to accommodate the growing demand for industrial space.
The local economy has benefited greatly from the recent proposal of two clothing companies to invest a total of Rs. 800 crore (US $ 94.02 million) in Neemuch.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav officially opened the first phase of Swaraj Suitings Private Limited from Bhilwara, which will generate about 750 direct jobs with an initial investment of Rs. 150 crore (US $ 17.63 million).
The project will be implemented in several stages and is expected to cost a total of Rs. 450 crore (US $ 52.89 million). Furthermore, Suvidhi Rayons Private Limited has invested Rs. 350 crore (US $ 41.13 million) in a project in Morvan, Jawad, which is anticipated to create about 2,000 direct jobs.
Over 1070 units obtained land allotment letters in the fiscal year 2024–2025, and over 330 units participated in inauguration or foundation-laying events, according to MPIDC. Industries have received financial support of Rs. 5,262 crore (US $ 618 million).
