United Textiles Limited reported a net loss of Rs. 234.30 crore (US $25.77 million) for the financial year ended 31 March 2026, compared with a net profit of Rs. 2.01 crore (US $212,000) in the previous financial year, as a sharp decline in revenue weighed heavily on the company’s performance.
Revenue from operations fell to Rs. 418.89 crore (US $46.08 million) in FY ’26 from Rs. 1,030.10 crore (US $113.31 million) in FY ’25, reflecting significant operational challenges during the year. The company’s total comprehensive income also turned negative, recording a loss of Rs. 229.99 crore (US $25.30 million) compared with a total comprehensive income of Rs. 2.69 crore (US $283,000) in the preceding year.
Total expenses during the year stood at Rs. 739.88 crore (US $81.39 million), down from Rs. 1,028.62 crore (US $113.15 million) in FY ’25. However, higher finance costs and the steep contraction in revenue impacted profitability. Finance costs increased to Rs. 69.68 crore (US $7.66 million) from Rs. 62.50 crore (US $6.88 million) a year earlier, while depreciation and amortisation expenses declined to Rs. 100.40 crore (US $11.04 million) from Rs. 118.86 crore (US $13.07 million).
The company reported a loss before tax of Rs. 315.85 crore (US $34.74 million) for FY ’26, compared with a profit before tax of Rs. 2.19 crore (US $230,000) in FY ’25.
For the fourth quarter ended 31st March 2026, United Textiles reported a net loss of Rs. 175.92 crore (US $19.35 million) on total revenue of Rs. 2.98 crore (US $313,000). In the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the company had posted a net loss of Rs. 1.16 crore (US $122,000) on total revenue of Rs. 170.60 crore (US $18.77 million).
The sharp deterioration in quarterly performance was primarily driven by negative revenue from operations of Rs. 64 lakh (US $70,000) during the quarter, resulting in a substantial decline in overall revenue and widening losses.
