
The Telangana Government has started a training initiative for women in tailoring at Palakurthi. A total of 3,000 women will be given a three-month training. This is the first time when women’s tailoring scheme has been launched in Palakurthi.
Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and Stree Nidhi are providing this training.
It is important to note here that Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Sangem Mandal in Warangal district needs 10,000 tailors.
Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister who inaugurated the training programme said that the State Government is striving for women empowerment through various initiatives.
The Minister added that a mini textile park is also coming up in Kodakandla and trained women tailors will get jobs. A new batch of trainees will also be started after three months.
The State Government is spending a total of Rs. 5 crore on training and the training programme will be implemented across the state in a phased manner.
