After announcing the launch of their exclusive Glamour Conscious Collection in selected stores around the world, H&M was out with their eco-friendly collection starting April 12, 2012. Available in stores as well as online, the collection is made out of sustainable fabric bases including, 100% organic cotton, hemp and recycled polyester.
The outfits and designs are made in different styles, to showcase a variety of red carpet looks with elements such as neon colours and Technicolour floral. H&M is not the only brand taking the initiative of taking sustainability to the red carpet, a lot of other brands and designers are taking eco-garments to the Oscars. Some of the examples include, Meryl Streep in her gold draped Lanvin dress made out of eco-certified sourced fabric and Firth in her red Valentino gown made of recycled polyester sourced from plastic bottles.
