Members of an Indore-based association of clothing sellers were fined Rs 1.11 lakh for selling clothing made in Bangladesh and China as part of a punitive move. The organization’s strong position demonstrates its support for Indian national interests.
As a show of patriotism, the revenues from the fines will be sent to the Indian Army’s fund, said Akshay Jain, head of the Indore Retail Garments Association.
Jain claims that some 600 city businessmen support this resolution and pledge to exclusively sell apparel made outside of the aforementioned nations.
Jain added that wholesalers of Bangladeshi and Chinese clothing in other locations, including Indore, have received letters informing them that they will no longer carry clothing from these nations. Joining this effort would ensure that only domestic clothing is traded, strengthening India’s economy.
Additionally, the association has made the decision to destroy Chinese clothing, accessories, and other items. The Municipal Corporation will receive the waste produced by this.
