The Cellulosic Fashion Yarn division of Grasim Industries has introduced Raysileco, a product under the Raysil brand that includes sustainable Viscose Filament Yarn (VFY) and is made from wood pulp and derived from certified, sustainably managed forests and offering full traceability to its origin.
Through the direct integration of technology-enabled and molecular-level traceability into the yarn, Raysileco represents a major breakthrough in yarn manufacture. The brand was unveiled at the 7th edition of Yarn Expo in Surat, hosted by The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
From yarn production to retail, this innovation gives value chain partners confidence, transparency, and verification by providing end-to-end visibility into the product’s path. Raysileco’s integration of digital and physical traceability technology, which guarantees transparency at every level, is one of its primary differentiators. Raysileco is manufactured at Grasim’s facilities in Veraval, Gujarat, and Kalyan, Maharashtra.
“This launch reflects our drive to evolve with dynamic market needs and deliver value where performance, responsibility, and trust converge,” stated Satyaki Ghosh, CEO of the Cellulosic Fashion Yarn business. “This product not only reaffirms our dedication to sustainability and end-to-end traceability, but it also gives our value chain partners the assurance to confirm and trust each filament they use,” he continued.
“The traceability mechanism uses both physical markers and digital technologies,” he further stated, adding “Secure, blockchain-based traceability for sustainable Viscose Filament Yarn is made possible by our collaboration with TextileGenesisTM. We follow the yarn’s journey from source to store using special digital tokens called FibercoinsTM, giving companies access to a real-time, tamper-proof digital record.”
