Kudos! Few of the companies in textile and apparel sector are coming forward to support their employees and their immediate family by bearing the cost of vaccination.
Oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd. and Ludhiana-based textile giant Trident Ltd. are the two companies who have made such announcement.
If sources to be believed, there are few more companies in textile domain, planning for the same.
Reliance Industries Ltd. has overall 12.2 lakh employees. Nita Ambani, Non-Executive Director, Reliance Industries and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, in an internal communication to all employees, said “As per our earlier commitment, Reliance will bear the full cost of vaccination for you, your spouse, your parents and vaccine-eligible-aged children. You and your family’s safety and well-being is our responsibility.”
The company has tied-up with specific hospitals to roll out the vaccination drive for employees at the places where they are stationed.
The Trident Group, known for yarn and home furnishing business (apart from paper and energy), will also provide COVID-19 vaccines to all its 14,000 employees and their family members free of charge. Eligible family members include parents, spouse and children of employees.
The Trident Group’s Madhuban Hospital, situated in Budhni, Madhya Pradesh, is one of the few hospitals selected as Covid Vaccination Centre catering to the residents of Budhni, Hoshangabad, Obedullaganj, Rehti, Nasrullahganj, Barkhedi and other areas.
Rajinder Gupta, Chairman, Trident Group said, “Trident has always prioritised the well-being of its employees and their families. For us, our people and community come first and we will continue to invest in their health and safety and comply with the Government directives and advice on the situation. We are pleased to be able to touch the lives of so many people and together work towards a Covid-free India.”
It is also pertinent to mention here that India’s largest private company joins the likes of IT giants Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Accenture and public sector lender State Bank of India, amongst others, who are bearing the cost of vaccination of their employees and their dependents.
